All Stand Up Paddle board UK courses are staffed by appropriately qualified instructors. Staff to student ratios are in accordance with the National Governing Body guidelines.

Health and Safety Considerations

Anyone with a medical condition must seek medical advice before considering participating in an activity.

For the water based activities, all participants must be able to swim 25m and be confident swimming in open water.

You are strongly recommended not to wear spectacles of any kind as they can be a hazard to yourself whilst participating in an activity. If you choose to wear spectacles you must accept that injury may occur and accept responsibility for any such injury or loss of spectacles. Participants may wear contact lenses.

Stand Up Paddle board UK reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Stand Up Paddle board UK Staff may require any participant to leave the course if that person acts in any such manner as to endanger themselves and others.

Insurance

All participants must be aware of and accept the risks associated with outdoor activities. We carry £5 million public liability insurance. Details are available on request. Participants are strongly advised to arrange their own personal holiday insurance to cover cancellation and personal injury.

Stand Up Paddle board UK is under no liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to property, however caused, whilst on a course organised by Stand Up Paddle board UK.

Payment

We require a 50% deposit in order to secure a booking. The remaining balance is then required one month prior to the booking. If you are booking within one month of the activity, we will require the full balance at the time of booking.

Cancellations by us

Whilst every reasonable attempt will be made to deliver courses, Stand Up Paddle board UK reserves the right to cancel or modify the courses due to safety considerations, bad weather and other factors beyond our control. In this case we will offer you an alternative activity or the option of re-booking the intended activity for a new date.

Cancellations by you

Your deposit is not refundable. If you cancel your booking more than one month before your visit no further money will be due. If you cancel all or part of your booking within one month of your visit then the full balance of the trip is still due and no refund will be given. As with any holiday or trip away we recommend that you take out personal holiday insurance to cover cancellation. When booking on behalf of a group, we would recommend you book for the minimum number in the party and add others to the group as they confirm. If your group numbers reduce within one month of your activities the full balance for the number of places originally booked will still be due. However, for last minute bookings we need to know your final group numbers at the time of booking.

Session Locations

Archery takes place at our site in Glyndyfrdwy. For directions please follow the link to the ‘find us’ page. For all other activities we meet at the launching location. Launching location varies depending on which course you choose and river levels. Information of the launching location for your course will be on your confirmation email which is sent at the time of booking. The waterways we regularly use are the Llangollen canal and River Dee.

For all water activities participants must bring a pair of old trainers or wetshoes and swimwear for under the wetsuit provided.

Archery participants are advised to wear long sleeved tops.

Customer Care

If you have a great time please let us know, we love hearing that we’ve done a good job! If on the other hand you think we can make some improvements, please let us know as soon as you can so we can try to fix the problem. We want you to have a fantastic time and really value your feedback as it is what helps us to review and improve our courses.

Dogs on board

You will be asked to sign a waiver to confirm that you take full responsibility for your dog and it’s actions. We reserve the right to ask you to remove your dog if it is causing disruption to the session. Your dog must be a confident swimmer and have an element of training. If your dog is not a confident swimmer you must provide a dog buoyancy aid for your dog.

Social Paddle

When signing onto a social paddle you are paddling under our rentals agreement.

Once you have had a safety brief from the instructor and one tuition session (e.g. a half day or social paddle with an instructor) you are then able to take a SUP on the water during the time of the social paddle unguided in pairs.
