Join Stand Up Paddleboard UK and Sup Lass Paddle Adventures in the heart of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB for a weekend of coached white water paddling, river adventures, wild brews and luxury bunkhouse accommodation.

 

Ability: The weekend is suitable for those new to white water paddling or competent flat water paddlers. 

 

Where will we stay? 

We have secured a luxury bunkhouse, located on a traditional Welsh Farm, which can sleep up to 12 people.

 

What will we eat?

You will tuck into a range of Welsh food and drink delights over the weekend - from homemade oak smoked chilli to local pub grub, plus plenty of cake. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary requirements. 

 

A brief outline of what we will do: 

 

Friday 

Arrive at our luxury bunkhouse accommodation for 6.00pm 

Welcome drinks, overview of the weekend and meet your new paddling team and coaches

Tuck into a homemade oak smoked chill feast - local Welsh beef and vegan options

Interactive river paddling workshop - learn about kit, journey planning and more

 

Saturday 

Welsh continental breakfast served at the bunkhouse 

DIY packed lunch making session

Meet at Paddle HQ for a brew and briefing 

Flat water development session - preparing for the moving water environment (AM)

Riverside picnic lunch 

White water safety skills and moving water paddling techniques (PM)

Supper at The Grouse Pub, Carrog (not included within price)

 

Sunday 

Welsh continental breakfast served at the bunkhouse 

DIY packed lunch making session

Coached white water adventure river journey 

Riverside picnic lunch

Weekend debrief and feedback session

A small, family run business built from the ground up by Anthony and Lianne Ing. You’ll find Lianne nestled in the office taking care of bookings and day to day logistics. Anthony has been a key pioneer of White Water stand up paddle boarding, developing the industry for the past 12 years. With his vast in-depth knowledge of the sport and his personable and professional approach to coaching, he thrives in helping his students be the best they can be on the water.

Located on the edge of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB, SUP Lass Paddle Adventures was founded by Caroline Dawson, a SUP Adventure Guide, Leave No Trace Trainer and outdoor cooking expert. Caroline’s business specialises in creating memorable paddle experiences and adventures.

Cost

 

£395.00pp, which includes two nights luxury bunkhouse accommodation, arrival meal and drinks, breakfasts and lunches. (+ online booking fee).

 

Maximum number of spaces available is 12, we will require a minimum number of 6 people to run the weekend - if that number is not reached we will provide you with an option to attend an alternative weekend. 

 

FAQ’s 

 

Can I bring my own board?

Yes you can bring your own board, though we ask you to check with us its suitability in advance of the weekend. Buoyancy aids, good footwear and a helmet are mandatory for all of our sessions. We are able to supply WW boards, buoyancy aids, wetsuits, helmets, paddles, etc - please confirm your requirements on the booking form. 

 

Do I need to be a good paddler? 

The weekend is suitable for both beginner and intermediate paddlers. On the first day we will run a skills session ahead of jumping on the river to progress everyone’s skills whichever stage of learning you are at. 

 

Can I have a drink? 

 

Alcohol can be consumed at the bunkhouse and we will supply a welcome drink on the first evening. We will also visit a local pub on the second evening. Any further alcohol can be purchased by yourself before you arrive. 

 

Can you cater for my dietary requirements? 

Yes, we can cater for a range of dietary requirements. Please let us know in advance through your booking form. 

 

What is the accommodation like?

Bodlondeb retreat is a luxury accommodation set in the rolling hills of North Wales. Complete with underfloor heating and balcony with breathtaking views across the valley. Upstairs is a modern snug and well-equipped kitchen. There are three custom built bunk rooms each with an ensuite. Also a beautiful spacious studio for evening workshops and entertaining.
