Health and Safety Considerations

Anyone with a medical condition must seek medical advice before considering participating in an activity.

For all water based activities participants must be comfortable being in open water. For the white water based activities, all participants must also be able to swim at least 25m.

You are strongly recommended not to wear spectacles of any kind as they can be a hazard to yourself whilst participating in an activity. If you choose to wear spectacles you must accept that injury may occur and accept responsibility for any such injury or loss of spectacles. Participants may wear contact lenses.

Stand Up Paddleboard UK reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Stand Up Paddleboard UK Staff may require any participant to leave the course if that person acts in any such manner as to endanger themselves and others.

All participants must be aware of and accept the risks associated with outdoor activities. We carry £5 million public liability insurance. Details are available on request. Participants are strongly advised to arrange their own personal holiday insurance to cover cancellation and personal injury.

Stand Up Paddleboard UK is under no liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to property, however caused, whilst on a course organised by Stand Up Paddle board UK.

Payment

When booking online full payment will be required at the time of booking. For large bookings, we can arrange a 50% deposit in order to secure a booking. The remaining balance is then required one month prior to the booking. If you are booking within one month of the activity, we will require the full balance at the time of booking irregardless the group size.

Cancellations due to COVID lockdowns

If a national or local lockdown restricts our ability to run a course or activity which you are booked onto, we will offer you an alternative date or a refund.

Cancellations by us

Whilst every reasonable attempt will be made to deliver activities, Stand Up Paddleboard UK reserves the right to cancel or modify the activities due to safety considerations, bad weather and other factors beyond our control. In this case we will offer you an alternative activity or the option of re-booking the intended activity for a new date.

Cancellations by you

Your deposit is not refundable. If you cancel your booking more than one month before your visit no further money will be due. If you cancel all or part of your booking within one month of your visit then the full balance of the trip is still due and no refund will be given. As with any holiday or trip away we recommend that you take out personal holiday insurance to cover cancellation. When booking on behalf of a group, we would recommend you book for the minimum number in the party and add others to the group as they confirm. If your group numbers reduce within one month of your activities the full balance for the number of places originally booked will still be due. However, for last minute bookings we need to know your final group numbers at the time of booking.

Customers with Disabilities or Medical Conditions

If you have a disability or medical condition which affects your ability to participate in the activity, please call us to discuss your needs. Although not all activities are suitable for all disabled participants, we will do our best to help by working with our instructors to assess your individual needs relative to the activities. We must also be informed of any medical conditions (asthma, epilepsy, deafness etc) any participant has. We do not recommend that those who are pregnant take part in our watersports sessions because of the risk of falling and harming the baby, and difficulties with remounting the board. If you do decide to take part whilst pregnant your session may be adapted slightly to accommodate your needs, eg kneeling/sitting throughout. Please bear in mind these sessions are physical and can be tiring. If you are in doubt as to whether you should take part in an activity because of an existing medical condition please seek advice from your doctor.
